Our organisation

Stitches in Time is a participatory arts organisation, established in 1993. We design and deliver education and community development arts programmes, public commissions and training courses in visual and textile arts. Primarily based in Limehouse Town Hall, we also conduct regular outreach programmes in several community spaces around the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Our mission is to

  • Provide a forum to enable culturally diverse groups to work together.
  • Run educational programmes to raise levels of achievement.
  • Raise levels of confidence and skill based learning for women, young people and older people.
  • Create partnerships between individuals in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors.

FabricWorks is the enterprise programme of Stitches in Time. We provide training in tailoring and sewing skills and we offer a bespoke production service for textile commissions. Income generated by FabricWorks supports Stitches in Time community development and education programmes.

We raise funds through our social enterprise, individual donations, and a wide variety of statutory and private trust sources. We have working partnerships and funding thanks to –
